Your Name
As morning dawns and evening fades
You inspire songs of praise
That rise from earth to touch Your heart
And glorify Your name
Your name
Is a strong and mighty tower
Your name
Is a shelter like no other
Your name
Let the nations sing it louder
'Cause nothing has the power to save
But Your name
Jesus, in Your name we pray
Come and fill our hearts today
Lord, give us strength to live for You
And glorify Your name

Float
Three months.
Float.
A lot of things.
Too tired to write!
Strange, isn't it?
Last night the floaters stayed up to clear the remains of our beloved float. We pulled out claddings we had painstakingly put up, removed wire mesh, saved rattan that we used to form the structures so that we could reuse them next year. Three months of work, five minutes of fame, 3 days to destroy it all. Some of the pieces would be scattered around RH though...can't bear to destroy everything!
The float team are a great bunch of people. We went through a great deal together. Can't imagine not seeing everyone daily anymore. School is starting tomorrow, however, so not much time to dwell on that! Glad for the memories. Forget the exhaustion, remember the fun.
We celebrated Clara's and Jasvind's birthday yesterday, on the float truck, no less! At 3am in the morning on the road with the hazard lights on. Thomas smuggled the cake on the truck by pretending to bring his guitar along, so that Jasvind wouldn't suspect. Jasvind, however, was concussed at the back of the truck and never noticed the guitar, let alone the fact that Thomas was holding the guitar case in a very weird manner.
We then went off to Novena for supper cum breakfast. Had fun crapping over Satay and stingray...
We returned to RH at 6 something in the morning. I did my laundry and then took a 45 minute nap before Gail called me up (Thank goodness she did) and went to church. Oh dear. Well, no more nights like this before Sunday. But I'm glad I stayed up to celebrate Clara and Jasvind's birthday! Will miss float ppl. Oh, haha, hmm, I think we will have a few new couples coming to light soon. :P You notice things on the back of trucks...hee, but then I may be mistaken. I'm not quite as observant as Shereen. Hmmm. Well, we'll see.
I wonder why this is such an interesting topic. I remember being grilled once while doing float at the dinner table by some curious seniors as to why Thierry's Facebook relationship status changed from 'single' to 'it's complicated'. Wahlao, anything better to do? LOL. And then they tried to pry out other float scandals from me. Haha, what a person to ask. I know close to nothing. Ask Shereen or Linda and you'll get a long list. True or not is another matter :P
I slept through most of today's message, though it was super interesting cos it was about how the clothes worn by Aaron represented the things we should look for in a person who ministered upon the Lord. I think. Oh dear.
Later there was children's church and we had 11 kids in class!! O.o woah. Kind of hard to handle. Children's Church seriously needs more helpers.
I got back from church after lunch and concussed until 5.45pm when Swee Yi called me up for a discussion on holiday plans. Hee. We sure think far ahead.
Well, tata for now. I am very, very tired. And I think I actually got sunburn at the back of my neck. It hurts. I don't sunburn easily, just get black. But ow. Ow. Ow. That comes of standing under the noon sun for several hours with zero sun protection. I am glad I am not Wei Seng. He is now a very red color, and if you touch any part of his skin he will wince. Cycelia is finding this new game very amusing.
Well, school starts tmr. my new tutor's name is Dr. Patrick Janssen and I am in group 1. Located in North America DDS. I hope it won't be too crammed.
My new tutor sounds interesting. Hope to learn a great deal from him. :D

Chocolate
Chocs from Sweden...presents from my uncle...back in Malaysia just before I left for SG.
I have suddenly an extraordinary craving for chocolate!!
My Chinese is terrible. I was quite pleasantly surprised once when my form 4/5 Chinese teacher praised me for a Chinese essay I wrote. She said the language was terrible but she sure liked the story. Doing-o.
Well, it was about chocolate. The whole thing was about chocolate, and then it was about a cat. Hm.
Never mind. I'm just depressed. Chocolate makes me happy.

I'm So GLAD!!!
I'm so happy that I couldn't sleep this morning because I got to speak with some dear friends online and I'm so glad that...that friends are friends again!! It's wonderful!!
You know it really warms the heart when there's goodwill all around? Awwww!!!
I am so glad when there's goodwill!! There's been too much bad feelings around me and by me for ages, and then this morning I just felt so happy when I heard the good news...
I'm so happy, so glad!! Thank God!! Oh I can't help thanking God!! God is so great!! He heals, and He comforts, and He accepts!! YAY!! And, yes, I was praying for that friendship to heal, and prayers are answered!! And I was just thinking last night why God was so far away...and then suddenly such good news...haha!!
Well, I want all my own strained friendships to heal...I pray that many strained friendships will heal!! And I hope all friendships will be pure and accepting!! It's so good for honesty and openness in a friendship...
Thank You so much God!!!
You know, I've been listening to this song a lot:
It was on Gail's blog some time ago!!
It's about an accepting and a wonderful God!! Who accepts us all not because of who we are, but because of who He is!! Oh, I am such a small person if I don't emulate my big, great God!! I'm nothing, and He loves me. How can I not love my own friends?
I have been so wrong always, so lost!! God is great!! Oh help me to change, I've been lost for so long!! But He is so great and I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength!! Oh the joy, I'm so glad!!
Every new day, your glory unfolds!! Oh I am so glad!! GLAD GLAD GLAD!!
Friendships all need to be cultivated...and pruned...as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another...that is what friends are for...
So if you rebuke in love, then it is alright!! PLEASE REBUKE ME, FRIENDS!! :D Tell me I'm wrong. I really miss mummy, cos she's always made me see when I'm wrong!! But she's not here now, and I'm gone!! GONE!!! ARGH!!!
I'm SO glad!!! So happy!! I can't help rejoicing!!
And oh!! My Papa Phea has introduced me to soccer. Suddenly I am interested. Nono not in handsome guys (they may play a small part in it, lol) (okay, maybe a bigger part)...but then there's something there which really interests me, and that is Team Spirit!!
I guess being in float, this is kind of relevant. ONE TEAM!! YEAH!!!
Anyway, the moral of the Euro 2008 Final game between Germany and Spain was....tada!! Spain won because they played as a team, while Germany lost because they were relying on one or two good players!! There are good players and better ones, in a team game, however, EVERYONE is important!! You have to bring out the best in everyone!! YAY!!!
Oh dear. Goodnight. I am going to be so strange tomorrow haha!!

A Little Bit of Kindness
This is going to be a very raw and raving post that you don't have to read, really. But I would like it if you did, because it is important to me. And maybe, maybe you will understand?
I haven't been living my life right. You know, sometimes you think you are living your life right, and things seem to be going fine, but actually it's not? That is how I feel my life has been for a long time.
One thing I have realized recently is that acceptance is something that everyone really craves. I have seen so many instances of people not being accepted for who they are, and I think that it is something really horrible. I have been un-accepting of people too, badly so, and I am very, very ashamed of myself.
I am watching Evan Almighty now!! Haha!! I remember watching Bruce Almighty with Rachel Foong the night before we went off for a writer's camp. Rachel is a very nice girl who talked with me a lot when I was a quiet, lonely little girl seated at the corner of church during Youth Service...and she encouraged my writing because she saw I enjoyed reading!! A little bit of kindness goes a long way. And I am afraid I haven't been good at doing little bits of kindnesses!!! A little bit of kindness always brings more kindness, and more and more...and shyness is never an excuse not to be kind.
There are so many ways to be kind!! There are so many people who are not accepted for some small thing they have done, or some queerness that are unique to them...or for a fault they are unable to overcome on their own. And so people talk about them, and laugh at them, and don't talk to them because they are perceived as uncool, or weird...and maybe they are.
I am feeling so ashamed of myself now. There are some people whom I have not been kind to because of perceived ideas about them, or maybe I feel that they are irritating people, or they trouble me...and this is so wrong. SO WRONG. I don't know. Some of these people really get on my nerves, and after a whole lot of kindness they still continue doing what should not be done. Perhaps they have mental problems...these kind of people are very often marginalized by society. And bullied. And yet they desire God so much. I feel ashamed for what I have done. I tried to be kind. But why was I doing it?
The motivation is important. Why are you doing it? To be perceived as kind? To have people admire you? I think it was for people's admiration that I did what I did. And there was no love involved.
But there are kindnesses you can do that will receive no praise. Perhaps you will be marginalized like some others are marginalized. Gone is the acceptance you crave.
Kindnesses like standing up for a person who is being made fun of...kindnesses like talking to a person who's weird and making them feel accepted. And then you find these people aren't really that bad after all. There are some exceptions, I admit, though. I don't know how to handle those. T.T
I have been so wrong. So filled with awfulness. I am so wrapped up in myself and my own worries. I have not been walking with my God. I may have thought I was walking with Him, but I most certainly wasn't!!
There is also something else I haven't been doing, and that is forgiving.
Oh you know, you know, mummy was saying that on the day of judgment you will judge yourself? (I miss mummy) By your conduct on earth...if you forgive people on earth, you will be forgiven also, if you were kind to people, it would be as if you were doing it Jesus.
Pride is another of my vices. I am so proud, oh so proud. I am afraid to hurt myself, so I hurt others. And I do it without thinking.
So many things, so many problems with me.
Then the Bible tells us to go the extra mile. To do more than what is expected of you. To think of others, to do things without expecting anything in return.
I've gotta make a turn-about-face!!
Now for action!! ACTION!! WAhahaha!! If you don't see any difference in me please whack me.
Oh, and another thing. I pray that I will be able to do good to people who do bad to me!!
